Sanjee- the destined 7.3

Posted by Mike Clarke on

The last two weeks have just flown by, haven’t they? I kept waiting for a good story to happen in front of me, one that’s worth telling, but alas I came up empty-handed. That’s okay, we still have so much to discuss including our 7.3 project, affectionately nicknamed Sanjee, and of course the Project Pete.

Let’s start with Sanjee, what a beautiful unit. Last week we got her running, aided by two new batteries. Sanjee runs alright but she’s no thoroughbred, yet. It was cold, and she stumbles a bit until everything warms up, but Sanjee runs nonetheless. This week will consist of a rear U-joint, and at the very least, a new glow plug solenoid. If we’re being honest, the glow plugs and at least one injector should be changed out as well, but I want to get it moving under its own power first. Until we figure out exactly what it’ll be, Sanjee is a big, beautiful lawn ornament that we’ll slowly fix.

My nickname originality is lacking, but there’s worse problems in the world than not being able to come up with something cool to call a project. I decided on Sanjee solely because this bland grey beauty is an ex-Sanjel flat deck service truck. Just for reference, currently we have the aforementioned Sanjee, Project Pete, The Silver Bullet, and The Lil’ Red Express Ford. If you’re new here, the project Pete is a tandem-axle Peterbilt 378 tilt deck that is going to be the i2 project hauler, and it is a long-term restoration. The Silver Bullet is my 2016 Dodge 3500 Cummins, and it’s silver! Quite shocking, I know. Finally, my ‘79 Ford Stepside is the last on our list, and it only received its name because I needed to call it something for this blog. Maybe one day it’ll be a parts hauler, we’ll have to wait and see. If you need another name for your project, hit me up, at this point I’m a self-proclaimed expert.

That’s it for the positivity related to the i2 projects. The 79 Ford is buried under snow, hidden deep in the back yard. We’ll get to it in the summer.. Maybe. Brandon and I marched out to the Pete last week, and again we failed to even fire the old girl up. We checked the batteries, and they look like they’ve been in the truck for 15 years. We’ll get a new set soon, then we’ll get to hear the grumpy old prick come to life. Last year this rig would start in -30 without complaint, but now he’s temper-mental? We’ll fix that. So now we’ve got one project running and two that don’t, I see this as an absolute win!

To switch gears quickly, I’ve got some cool updates about Injected Industry. I’ve landed our first interview for the blog! Without spoiling the surprise, it’s a close friend of mine who bleeds passion for vehicles. He helps bring project car dreams to a reality as a career, and he has one sweet ride himself. I know that we’ll have lots to discuss, and it’ll be an interesting piece. I just hope that the article I write does justice to just how inspiring this guy is. I’ve also got a big apparel shipment coming in, that I made as a limited edition line. I’m extremely excited for everyone to see a new design we put onto clothing. Unfortunately, the exact art won’t be available, because that would defeat the purpose of “limited edition”, but we have more of a similar style coming out.

Can’t wait to make more progress on the projects, and the company. My goal is to do everything in power my show all aspects of the passion we all know and love

‘Till next time,

Mike
